Full Stop

I got my scan results recently and one year after the end of my treatment I am still in the clear, so its underline and full stop to the past year and a half and get on with the rest of my life...feels fab.

I think these results are more important to me than been told you are in remission as that is just the start of rebuilding your life. One year on you have rebuilt your strength, and it takes that long, rethought your future and how you may have changed your outlook and got you friggin mind over the question 'why me' and all that!

I remember someone asking me just after diagnosis how it has changed my life, they must have been naive as it is only now that I can naturally answer. I will not be and have not been 'plastic' and say what I think others want to hear, or the right thing, I am and will be more natural and honest in my thinking and that is probably been the biggest change to my life along with wanting to spend more time with honest family and friends and not been materialistic, that pisses me off more than ever.

Life really is to short, yes we all like the odd luxury and why not we work hard enough, but to think that we are all owed something is crap.

Right that's my current thoughts out of the way so its onward and upward. I feel great, look forward to some fantastic times and want to work hard in every area and most of all enjoy life.

So unless anything happens that is it, full stop and good night.

And for one final time KEEP YOUR PECKER UP.

Thanks

C

Awww Im still sneaking in and having a look, but Im glad I have read your last post Chris and that you are finaly feeling that its something never to be forgotten but you can at least put part of this to bed at last once and for all.

We felt different when you got your scan results this time, there was nothing complicated , no questions, just a straight forward message that you were Clear, it was a relief.

Your blog from start to finish has been thought provoking and I think has stirred up many emotions whilst reading it at times.

Everything you have said is true, and life is for living and moving forward and enjoying.

Im a believer that everything that happens in your past can be used to make the path way for your future in a positive way, I dont always follow my own advice but I sort of see you thinking the same thing in your last post

Gawd I sound a drama queen ( Who me??) not even had a glass of wine yet ( ha ha )

Best of luck Chris, from all of us

Hi Chris,

Great Blog! The lighthearted approach to such serious illness is refreshing and something I hope to tackle in my own personal battle.

So pleased you have the closure and can move forward.

I wish you the absolute best of luck with everything you do.

Take Care

Kaleigh

I understand your situation, and something similar happens to me, I have pain in his right knee and a chronic fibromyalgia and pain consitent give me time to time, and the doctor gave me Vicodin for pain control both cases, but warned me that This medication has side effects and take it as he tells me not to have problems, I hope that will help experts like me because I think I'm getting better but slowly.

I will agree- although i'm not even halfway into my treatments yet- that has been my biggest change.. I can't tolerate putting on a face for anyone or saying something because i know someone wants to hear it.. I feel more "real" for lack of a better description- and I certainly feel like life is just WAY too short and I can't figure out why I never saw it before (and I'm a nurse for cryin out loud) I'm just visiting your site for the first time and after reading this I look forward to reading through your story in the near future :) thank you for sharing it :)
